Mamuju, mandarnews.com – Gempa susulan berkekuatan 6.2 magnitudo yang mengguncang Sulawesi Barat (Sulbar), Jumat dini hari (15/1) pada pukul 02.28Â WITA di perbatasan Mamuju-Majene mengakibatkan ratusan rumah dan gedung bertingkat di Mamuju rata dengan tanah.
Hal tersebut mengakibatkan sejumlah warga terjebak di reruntuhan bangunan. Sejumlah warga terus berupaya melakukan evakuasi dengan alat seadanya.
Selain itu, kondisi sejumlah jalan raya di Kota Mamuju juga ikut rusak, terlihat dari retakan hingga pergeseran tanah yang terjadi.
Selain rumah warga, gedung bertingkat pun ikut rusak parah, seperti Hotel Maleo, Maleo Town Square, bahkan Kantor Gubernur Sulbar juga rata dengan tanah.
Saat ini, sejumlah warga bersama pasukan gabungan terus melakukan evakuasi terhadap dua orang petugas keamanan yang terjebak reruntuhan bangunan Kantor Gubernur.
Sekretaris Provinsi (Sekprov) Sulbar Muhammad Idris mengatakan, saat ini Sulbar dalam kondisi darurat sehingga hal utama yang harus dilakukan evakuasi korban. Ia mengaku saat ini telah melakukan komunikasi untuk meminta bantuan.
“Tadi saya sudah minta bantuan ke Gubernur Sulawesi Selatan, hari ini Sekprov Sulsel akan terbang langsung ke Mamuju,” kata Idris, Jumat (15/1).
Hingga berita ini ditulis, belum diketahui jumlah korban jiwa akibat kejadian ini, sejumlah warga juga masih bertahan di pengungsian sedangkan upaya mendatangkan alat berat pun terus dilakukan. (Sugiarto)
